It is widely used for creating durable road markings, such as lane lines, pedestrian crossings, and symbols on roads, highways, and parking lots.

Characteristics of Thermoplastic Paint:

  1. Heat-Activated Material:

    • Thermoplastic paint requires heating to 180–200°C before application, at which point it melts into a liquid state for easy application.
  2. Solid at Room Temperature:

    • Unlike conventional paints, thermoplastic is solid in its natural state, requiring heating for use.
  3. Composition:

    • Typically consists of binders (such as synthetic resins), pigments, glass beads (for reflectivity), and fillers (to provide durability and texture).
  4. Retroreflectivity:

    • Contains glass beads or allows for the addition of glass beads during application to provide excellent night-time visibility.
