Product Description

Thermoplastic road marking paint, also known as hot-applied thermoplastic paint, is a durable coating used for pavement markings. It consists of synthetic resins, glass beads, pigments, and fillers, applied in a molten state (180–220°C) using specialized equipment. Once cooled, it forms a thick, long-lasting layer that adheres strongly to asphalt or concrete. 

Features of Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint:

Composition: Made of synthetic resin, glass beads, pigments, and fillers, providing durability and reflectivity.
Application Method: Applied in a molten state (heated to 180-200°C) via spray, screed, or extrusion, ensuring strong surface bonding.
Retro-Reflectivity: Contains glass beads that reflect light, enhancing visibility in low-light or adverse weather conditions.
Thickness: Typically applied at 1.5-3 mm, creating a robust, long-lasting marking.
Fast Setting: Solidifies within minutes after application, allowing quick reopening of roads.

How to Apply Thermoplastic Paint:

1. Prepare the Surface:

Clean the Road Surface: The area should be clean and dry. Remove dirt, debris, dust, oil, and any loose material using a broom, pressure washer, or cleaning equipment.
Dry the Surface: Make sure the surface is free of moisture before applying the paint.

2. Heat the Paint:

Use a Heating System: Hot melt road marking paint needs to be heated to around 180–200°C (356–392°F). Use a dedicated melting pot or heated tank to melt the paint.
Maintain Proper Temperature: Keep the paint at the right temperature to ensure even application. It should be fluid enough to spread but not too hot to cause burns or uneven application.

3. Apply the Paint:

Choose the Right Equipment: Use a road marking machine (manual or automatic) designed for hot melt paint. These machines often have an applicator that controls the flow of the paint.
Apply Evenly: Pour or spray the melted paint onto the prepared surface in a uniform layer. The paint will begin to solidify as it cools, so work efficiently.
Marking Width and Thickness: Depending on the machine, adjust the settings to achieve the correct width and thickness for the lines or symbols you are marking.

4. Allow Cooling and Solidification:

Cooling Time: After application, the paint will solidify relatively quickly as it cools down. This can take just a few minutes, depending on the weather and temperature.
Curing: Full curing might take a few hours. Ensure that traffic doesn’t pass over the markings too soon to prevent smudging or damaging the lines.

5. Clean Equipment:

Clean the Machine: After use, clean your equipment thoroughly, especially the nozzle and hoses, to prevent the paint from hardening inside the machine.
