In some cases, a minimum thickness of 2.0-2.5mm is recommended for optimal performance. 3M's All Weather Thermoplastic system requires a minimum binder thickness of 90 mils (2.25 mm).
Reflectivity:
Thermoplastic paints incorporate glass beads to enhance retroreflectivity, especially at night. The coefficient of retroreflected luminance (RL) is a key specification, with Class R2 typically requiring RL Dry ≥ 100.
